Product Description

“Knockin´ On Heaven´s Door” is a song composed by the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan for the 1973 Sam Peckinpah movie “Pat Garret and Billy The Kid” and which became one of the greatest hits of the singer from Duluth (Minnesota).

The song, harmonically, is a sequence of four bars in G Major (G D / Am / G D / C) that is constantly repeated throughout the song while the lyrics count in first person as a deputy sheriff feels that the moment of his death is near and he tells his mother about it, telling her his fears. It is, as Dylan’s biographer Clinton Heylin said, “an exercise in splendid simplicity.”

Many artists and groups have made versions of the song, including Roger Waters, U2, Bon Jovi, Grateful Dead, Avril Lavigne, Eric Clapton or Guns N ‘Roses.
