Heart Of Gold Backing Track

“Heart Of Gold” is a song composed by Canadian singer and guitarist Neil Young and included on his 1972 album Harvest. It is one of the musician’s biggest hits and was the only song in his entire career that reached number 1 in the United States.

Rolling Stone magazine placed it at number 297 in the list of the 500 best songs of all time and it included such important figures as James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt doing choirs.

“Heart of Gold” was recorded in 1971 at Quadrafonic Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, during Harvest’s early recording sessions. At the time, James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt were in Nashville to collaborate on the Johnny Cash television show, and producer Elliot Mazer managed to convince them to record with Young.Originally, “Heart of Gold” was to transition after “A Man Needs a Maid” and was to be played on the piano, and was thus performed at Young’s first solo concerts in 1971, but he abandoned this instrument in favor of the guitar before putting it on the album.
