Lonely Day

“Lonely Day” is the second single taken from the 2005 album “Hypnotize” by the American band of Armenian descent System Of A Down and written and sung by their guitarist Daron Malakian.

The song is a very powerful ballad that begins with a guitar arpeggio reminiscent of The Animals’ version of “The House Of The rising Sun” and with quite pessimistic and melancholic lyrics and one of the most complex guitar solos. and elaborated from the band. However, the lyrics have been criticized by some media for the incorrect use of the double superlative “The most loneliest”.

The song is one of the best known of the band and has been very well received by the public and the media, being one of the essentials in their live shows. It was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 49th annual Grammy Awards.
