“Message In A Bottle” is a song composed by Gordon Matthew Sumner (Sting) for “Reggatta De Blanc”, the second album by his band The Police.It was also the band’s first single to reach number 1 in England although in the United States it only reached number 74.

The lyrics tell of a castaway who arrives on an uninhabited and isolated island and sends a message inside a bottle in case someone can find him and help him.

It is one of the group’s best-known songs and was one of the fixtures during their live performances.
