“Solid Rock” is a song by the British band Dire Straits, composed by its singer, guitarist and leader Mark Knopfler, and included in their third studio album of 1980, “Making Movies”.
The song was recorded at the Power Station in New York and featured Roy Bittan, pianist for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, on keyboards and production by Jimmy Iovine, which gave it a much rockier sound than the one that characterized the band up until that point.
