“Sunday Bloody Sunday” is the first song from “War”, third album by the Irish band U2.It was the third single from the album but it became the group’s biggest hit so far and together with “New Year’s Day” it helped them become known worldwide.
The song was developed from a guitar riff and a piece of lyrics composed by The Edge, and later Bono finished off the lyrics and the melody.
It has been recognized as one of the best political protest songs and widely covered by many artists.
