“Insurrección” is a song by the Spanish music group El Último de la Fila, included on their studio album Enemigos de lo ajeno.
Composed, according to Manolo García, its author, in a few minutes, it is one of the group’s best-known and most emblematic songs. It contains, at the discretion of music critics, elements of Catalan jangle pop and rumba and has been considered one of the greatest milestones in the history of Spanish pop. In the author’s words, the song was addressed to his record company and the unfair contractual conditions to which the duo submitted.
The song has been classified by Rolling Stone magazine in number 12 of the 200 best songs of Spanish pop-rock, according to the ranking published in 2010.
